Meet the Painters.
Mike, Melissa, Cody and Jessica are the faces behind the venue. The farm on River Road has been in the Painter family for multiple generations. When Cody and Jessica got engaged, they knew that they wanted to incorporate the family farm into their big day. After several long weeks of renovations, they were finally able to enjoy having their family and friends gather for the celebration. They had their ceremony along the south fork of Shenandoah River followed by a reception in the big red barn on a perfectly sunny September day. After that day, it was obvious that this beautiful property should be enjoyed by more than just the family. So here we are a year later offering up the South Fork Barn & Event Venue. We would be thrilled to have you come out and take a look at all the hard work we’ve put in to make this place so special.
The property is located in Stanley, Virginia which is right in the middle of the picturesque Shenandoah Valley—just a short drive from DC. We are neighbors to the mountains of Shenandoah National Park, but also fortunate enough to border the Shenandoah River. Page county offers several attractions outside of the National Park and is also considered the “cabin capital of Virginia,” so finding lodging is typically not an issue. We are under seasonal operation from April through October. We have tried to make the barn as accommodating as possible by adding restrooms, a kitchenette, a bridal suite, and a groom room— all of which are located on the main level of the barn. Our venue also offers a fire pit and yard games (connect 4 & corn hole). We have a lengthy to do list as we grow as a business. Please check back here often or on our social media pages for updates!
